chainmail
Playing around with images and words
βNew York artist Laurie Anderson finds herself making a beeline to the Mail Shirt with Inscribed Rings (15thβ16th century) whenever she visitsβ reads the description section under her Meet Me At The Met video. The shirt is made entirely of interlocking links of iron and copper alloy. She likens its malleability to a smoking jacket, contrasting its wearerβs ability to be fluid compared to all of the other (stiff) armor in the collection.
With each act of kindness and selflessness, we form a ring for the chainmail worn by Justice as it fights Evil. We must fancy ourselves, at the very least, armorers.
